Hello! I’m Rachel.

I am interested in helping people live fully present and awake in their lives and in providing them with a more embodied sense of power. Throughout the course of life, many things happen that get in the way of living fully present, and I am a witness for clients as they identify these events and integrate them into their lives in a new way that will empower them to participate fully in their lives and to take charge of their life path in a new way.

Ten years ago I completed yoga certification training at the 200 hour level in an ashram style program in Sedona, AZ. More than just a certification, this experience provided a profound transformation in how I choose to show up in life and how I connect with myself, other people, and the world around me. It deepened my personal yoga and meditation practice as well as my work with therapy clients. I continue to study both basic and advanced practices of yoga, meditation and Ayurveda (yoga’s sister science). You will find these concepts woven throughout our work together as I look for ways to cue you more strongly to connect with your breath, your mind, your body, and your life. Ask me more about this topic anytime!

My professional licensure is as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have provided therapy to adults and adolescents and grief, loss, and trauma counseling to children, adolescents, adults and families. Therapy and mind/body skills are used to address issues of the nervous system and limbic system (the part of the brain related to emotions and survival) to teach clients the skills to regulate themselves and to provide them with self-leadership – being in charge of their own bodies and minds. A task in most therapy sessions is to achieve the ability to maintain calmness and feel safe in any situation, working toward the ultimate goal of feeling profoundly calm in the body while moving through life. In addition to supporting traditional therapy goals of feeling more mentally and emotionally stable, this approach can bring the client increased immunity and overall health and well-being.
